About Me

Gabrielle Giavanna Cataldo is a dancer and artist. Born and raised in Jamison, Pennsylvania, she has strong personal and professional ties to North Carolina.

 

She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance & Choreography and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Administration from Elon University, North Carolina. At Elon, Gabrielle has had the opportunity to perform in many of Elon's mainstage productions. She has performed works by Jiwon Ha, Hyoin Jun, Maurice Watson, Asley Lindsey, and Alexandra Joye Warren. Additionally, Gabrielle has performed for Casey Avaunt in the 2022 Richmond Dance Festival.  Most recently, she studied abroad at the Florence Dance Center under the expertise of Marga Nativo, Benedetta Ghiglia, and Angelo Egarese. While in Italy, she performed at the Teatro La Compagnia for Angelo Egarese.

In addition to her dance training, Gabrielle has completed multiple Arts Administration internships. She recently finished an internship with Parsons Dance Company for summer 2023 where she focused on education development and company management. Gabrielle also interned for the Elon Dance Program supporting the artistic directors Jasmine Powell and Jen Guy Metcalf on the fall productions.

Gabrielle is energetic, and outgoing, and displays passion in all her movements. In her free time, you can find Gabby in the mountains, skiing, exercising, teaching dance, and spending time with family and friends.

I am a versatile and passionate performer, embodying the essence of expression and emotion. I aspire to showcase the beauty of movement and foster an environment where individuals can discover the profound connections of dance. I intertwine my identity as a performer, continuously challenging myself to evolve and change the preconceived notions of what dance can be.
